Last year S7 bid for and received money from LSIS for an Enterprise project. This involved students from S7 colleges, who were not intending to go to University, but who would be looking for a job in the IT industry on leaving college. A trainer from a local web design company was brought in to work with the students for three days, in which they were given an insight into the industry through project work. They also had workshops on interview technique and then the opportunity to give a presentation to senior managers of the colleges. This gave them an online project to link to their job application forms, which is now a necessity. The two student team leaders were also offered Internships in the company over the summer holidays.
