This brand new S7 course, which begins on Thursday 11th October 2018, is aimed at really good teachers who wish to challenge themselves and be challenged, to become excellent teachers. It is not to address underperformance. The course will demand honesty and self-criticism, the setting of personal targets, and commitment not only to their improvement, but to the improvement of other teachers through an INSET activity back in their own college. This is not a management course and therefore there is no assumption that the delegate will be looking to move to the next level. The delegates will undertake a project directly concerned with the improvement of their own teaching. Each delegate will have a mentor from their own college. Delegates will be paired up to work together on each other’s teaching for the two peer mentoring days in Spring and Summer 2019.
A course for sixth form college middle managers with line management responsibilities, this is one of S7's flagship training programmes. It has been very well received by all the managers who have completed the course.
