Quality Sharing Scheme
This scheme has been in operation informally amongst the S7 Colleges for several years, but has been developed and formalised as part of the work we do together under our Peer Review and Development project.
In essence it is about using skills, knowledge and expertise available in a particular curricular or cross-college area in one S7 College to support a similar area in another S7 College. This scheme is about positive requests for development of new projects or support with planned implementations or changes from an individual (or group) rather than some kind of swat team 'fix' that is visited upon an unwilling area.
Requests for this type of support are completed by the person who will ultimately be the recipient and they scope the type of support that they require. This request is then sponsored by a senior manager and all such requests are included as a standing item on one of S7's half termly meetings of senior staff. Offers to meet the request from the pool of expertise available are then brokered by the S7 Consortium Manager and requesters and hosts are then matched this way. This scheme is also used by Colleges to recruit particular subject expertise on to internal quality review teams.
