Leadership Programme

2023 dates (all at Gorse Hill):

Days 1 and 2 (residential): Thursday, 9th and Friday, 10th February
Day 3: Tuesday, 21st March
Day 4: Wednesday, 26th April
Day 5: Tuesday, 6th June

The Leadership Programme is the S7 Consortium's tailored development programme, aimed at experienced heads of department and equivalent pastoral managers within the S7 Colleges to improve their leadership skills.

The five day course has been carefully planned and considered by a team of S7 senior managers to focus as tightly as possible on the changing needs and expertise demanded of managers in the middle of S7 organisations. It is these key posts who often face some of the greatest pressures in juggling the demands of the classroom with delivering wider organisational goals and targets.

The S7 Leadership Programme takes place away from the pressures and pace of the College environment at a training venue set in the heart of the Surrey countryside near Woking: S7 Leadership Venue Information

With a mix of delegates from across the S7 Colleges, all together in one place, it is hoped that there will be plenty of opportunity to make informal connections and networks to discuss and solve issues facing individuals in Colleges.

Commitment levels to this course are necessarily high.  All dates for the course will be compulsory - the programme has been designed such that each module will build on its predecessor.  In addition, each delegate will have their own mini research project to undertake, which will be an extension of their everyday work in their college.  This will be completed under the guidance of a mentor who will be a senior manager from another S7 college.  There will be a cost to your college for you to be part of this programme, so please make sure you first discuss with your Staff Development Manager your wish to attend.

Further information about the course and its content will be available to download soon.

If you are interested in attending the next S7 Leadership Programme please discuss it with your Staff Development Manager in your college.
